Topps Produces Cards for the 2011 Under Armour All-America Game

Topps had a wild weekend with two baseball events in different parts of the country. In addition to working with the Perfect Game All-American Classic at PETCO Park in San Diego, Topps was also present at the Under Armour All-America Game at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

This was the first season that cards were made for the Under Armour All-America game. Each player signed 250 cards to be included in future products. In return, players received a box of their cards. The players took the time to sign and trade cards with other players at the event so that every player left with a complete signed set.

The event, now in its fourth year, has seen 88 of 103 draft eligible players taken in the MLB Amateur Draft. That total includes 18 first round picks. A full roster for the game can be viewed here.

The 2011 Under Armour All-America game was shown live on the MLB Network. The National team beat the American team, 6-4. An interesting item of note is that Cal Ripken Jr. coached the American squad against a National team that featured his nephew, Ryan Ripken.
