The Bowman Prospect Challenge didn't create a ton of buzz while it was happening. However, the prizes -- 2013 Bowman Victory Baseball Autographs -- are.
2013 Bowman Victory Baseball Autographs are exclusive to the contest. Numbered to ten, winners get a random mix of cards depending on where they finished overall. And we're not just talking three or four at a time. Top finishers received more than 100.
The design is strikingly similar to the Bowman Black Autographs that have run throughout the brand's 2012 and 2013 products. Backgrounds are in gold instead of black. Like the Bowman Black Autographs, most are signed in silver. A few are not, though.
The vast majority of 2013 Bowman Victory Autographs are numbered to 10, although there are a couple of anomalies. Barret Loux and Beau Taylor are not serial numbered.
Also worth noting is the foil on the front. Most have gold foil accents, although there are some with silver.
In the case of Mark Montgomery, both his silver and gold cards have different images. Each is numbered separately to 10.
It's still early, but the 2013 Bowman Victory Autographs are selling extremely well on eBay. Given their rarity, non-traditional distribution and quality of signers, it shouldn't be all that surprising. A Kris Bryant sold quickly for a $999.99 Buy It Now. A Gosuke Katoh went for a penny under $400.
