Take a Virtual Tour Through the Early Days of Football

The Professional Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio has announced the opening of an exclusive online exhibit titled, "the Dutch Sternaman Collection." The exhibit focuses on a comprehensive collection of original documents from the early years of the NFL and the Chicago Bears that were recently donated. It represents the most complete collection of its type in the Hall of Fame's archives. It includes original documents of one of the NFL's most important historical events, the signing of Harold "Red" Grange in 1925, and his ensuing cross-country barnstorming tour with the Bears.

Edward “Dutch" Sternaman was a former player, coach and co-owner of the original Chicago Bears. The collection of documents and other ephemera provides incredible and in-depth details on the league's formation and it's early years. Included in the collection are hand-written notes, photos, game programs, tickets, coaching diagrams and more.

A portion of the collection is available for all to see through a virtual exhibit with more than a dozen of the key pieces scanned and enlarged for a detailed viewing experience. Take your visit now.
