Following a trend that allows the fans to join in on a title celebration, the San Antonio Spurs recognized their supporters with replica championship rings the same night that the players received their official rings honoring the team's 2014 NBA Finals win over the Miami Heat.
While the the stadium giveaway rings do not match up to the real bling, the one-size-fits-all rings feature a quality look and are already commanding strong prices on the secondary market.
Each of the spectators in attendance received the replica ring at the opening night game on October 28th. The team ultimately prevailed 101-100 against their in-state nemesis, the Dallas Mavericks. Despite an announced crowd of 19,615, the large quantity of rings now in public hands has not kept prices from surpassing $200 on several rings in early bidding.
The official ring provided to the players, shown below, includes 5.09 total carat weight of diamonds and more than three ounces of 14-carat white gold.
