Name called. Put on new hat. Shake hands with Adam Silver. Get a virtual rookie card. That was the routine for most of the NBA's newest members on draft night.
Panini didn't waste any time showing off their first virtual cards. These included the top three picks, Andrew Wiggins (Cleveland), Jabari Parker (Milwaukee) and Joel Embiid (Philadelphia). All were recently announced as Panini-exclusives.
The cards showcase the 2014-15 NBA Hoops design. These aren't the final cards, but many may end up with the same photos. Several shots show the excitement of getting picked.Perhaps none more so that Jusuf Nurkic.
Panini also made a card for Isaiah Austin who was an honorary pick by the NBA mid-way through the first round. It was expected Austin would have been picked by an NBA team until it was discovered he had a genetic disorder that forced him to retire before his professional playing career began.
2014-15 NBA Hoops is scheduled to release in October.
