Topps is heading to the 2014 New York Comic-Con with a handful of Garbage Pail Kids and Mars Attacks exclusives.
Garbage Pail Kids are featured on six different jumbo prints. Sold in sets of three at the Topps Booth (#1560), pop culture-themed characters include Breaking Brad, Dead TED, Obscene GENE, Fan BOYD. Also among them is Comic-Con RON, a creation of Peter Bagge, one of the creators of the upcoming Garbage Pail Kids comic. Sets of three prints are $25 or $40 for all six.
Fan BOYD is on a shirt that's exclusive to the 2014 NYCC. Limited to 300 copies, it's $20.
The IDW booth (1844) has a free ashcan edition of the GPK comic. In addition to Bagge, the book also has artwork from Garbage Pail Kids veterans Joe Simko, Brent Engstrom and Mark Pingitore.
Following their successful Kickstarter campaign, Mantic Games is set to release their Mars Attacks tabletop game. They'll be on hand to show people how to play. They'll also have games for sale and mini packs of Martian army builder figures. Those who buy the box set at the show get an exclusive sketch card that can be used in the game.
The 2014 New York Comic-Con runs October 9-12 at the Javits Center in New York City.
