Chasing the 2014 Panini Prizm World Cup Soccer Rainbow

Chromium and color are nothing new when it comes to card collecting. They're partners in crime, an expectation whenever a new shiny set is released. Until recently, it often was basic Refractors and other rainbow-finish cards, usually with different colored borders or backgrounds. 2014 Panini Prizm World Cup takes that same approach, then they also throw a bunch of patterns and textures into the mix. The result is a big but distinct list of Prizm parallels.

At the simple end of the spectrum are basic Prizms. These differ from regular base cards because of their rainbow background. They're noticeably brighter than the basic cards as well. These are the most common parallels in 2014 Panini Prizm World Cup. From there things go all the way down to one-of-one Black Prizms, or Black Finite as they've been called in other Prizm-branded sets.

In between is where things get colorful and filled with patterns. Not resting on plain rainbows, 2014 Panini Prizm World Cup has names like Plaid, Pulsar and Crystal, each differentiating a different background look. A couple of the parallels also mix colors.

Parallels carry throughout the product's many basic inserts. Autographs also have parallels, but only Prizm and Black Prizm.

All Prizms combine to fall eight per box, or about 1:3 packs.
