Build the 2013 Topps Football Rookie Legacy Set, Get 40 Autograph Cards

Build the 2013 Topps Football Rookie Legacy Set, Get 40 Autograph Cards 1Topps is looking to entice collectors to build the full 2013 Topps Football Rookie Legacy set by offering some big-time incentives.

Everyone who builds the complete 110-card Rookie Legacy set receives a complete set of 40 vintage-style autographs, one from each of the players who were at the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere. All 40 autographs are signed on-card. Once a set is completed, collectors must send it in to Topps for verification. Topps will then send the autographs as well as return the original set.

Besides the autographs, all those that complete the task are entered into a draw for a trip to the 2014 NFLPA Rookie Premiere.

To qualify for both the bonus cards and the draw, 2013 Topps Rookie Legacy sets must be received by December 31, 2013. It is also only open to U.S. residents (but not those in Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico). Click here for a full set of the rules (quick tip for those who brave the legal document -- there's a no-purchase-necessary section to enter the grand prize draw).

Rookie Legacy is a 110-card parallel set featuring all of the first-year players in the 2013 Topps Football base set. Numbered to 99, the cards are tough to find. Adding the incentives should make them more in demand than a lot of other similar parallels. Also making things a little tougher is the distribution of the cards. Some are hobby-only, others are exclusive to retail packs (Topps has not released information on who).

Topps has created a website to support the program. It includes images of the entire set, a way to keep track of who you have, all the rules and other details. Beginning in September and running throughout the football season, there will be a weekly random draw for those who register with the site and take a short survey.

Update (9/2/13): It has been pointed out that some people are selling the Rookie Legacy ad cards that are very common in the product. These cards are not good for anything and are not required for the set. They're not code cards either for an online compoent. They're simply an ad to let collectors know about the program. If you want these ads for your collection, great. But it's good to be aware.
