Andrew Luck Signs Deal with Upper Deck, Revealed as Trade UD Mystery Redemption

Andrew Luck Signs Deal with Upper Deck, Revealed as Trade UD Mystery Redemption 1Remember those Trade Upper Deck mystery redemptions? Since they first surfaced last year, there was lots of speculation that it would be Andrew Luck. It turns out, this time, the speculation was correct. Upper Deck announced they have signed a deal with Andrew Luck. They also confirmed the Colts quarterback would be the face of the mystery redemptions.

The deal, combined with Upper Deck's CLCC exclusive on NCAA trading cards, means that Upper Deck will have the first Andrew Luck cards of the quarterback in his Stanford uniform. Luck previously had a deal with Press Pass that gave them exclusive rights to Luck on non-NFL cards. Press Pass does not have an official college license.

"We know there has been a lot of speculation over who the 'Trade Upper Deck' card would be good for and we are thrilled to announce it will be Andrew Luck," said Brandon Miller, collegiate sports brand manager for Upper Deck in a release. "Getting his rookie cards into the market for collectors is a top priority for us and signing this deal was the first step to getting that done."

Moving forward, collectors can look for Andrew Luck cards and autographs in future 2013 Upper Deck football products.

The Trade mystery redemptions are randomly inserted in several products: 2011 Upper Deck Exquisite, 2012 Upper Deck Football, 2012 SP Authentic Football, 2012 SPx Football and 2012 Upper Deck Exquisite Football. There are different versions good for signed and unsigned cards.

Upper Deck has begun production of the final cards to be sent to collectors and said they will provide updates as the cards are completed.
