2013 Topps Five Star Baseball has a lot of autographs. And so it should given its hefty price tag. And while that may be a risk for box buyers, it's invigorating the single-card market with signatures from lots of top players, past and present.
The main 2013 Topps Five Star Baseball Autographs checklist features more than 80 players. All are numbered, though to varying quantities. They range from a high of 386 down to a low of 30. Besides basic versions, there are also Rainbow Foil parallels numbered to 25 and one-of-one Five Star versions.
For the most part, the names are notable. Some are definitely more so than others. And even some of the lower-tier Hall of Famers and superstars aren't going to bring much secondary market returns considering boxes top $300. In-pack highlights include Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr, Mike Trout and Nolan Ryan. Yasiel Puig, Sandy Koufax, Bryce Harper and Cal Ripken are among the redemptions.
And on the topics of redemptions, collectors shouldn't have to wait long for Puig. Topps posted the following on Twitter within a few days of the set's release:

While the likes of Salvador Perez and Dave Stewart are questionable for such an ultra high-end product, there are plenty of opportunities for collectors looking to pick up attractive cards at a reasonable price. All 2013 Topps Five Star Baseball Autographs are hard signed, something few current sets with a checklist this size can claim.
