Last year, the NHL labor dispute put Panini and Upper Deck in a bit of an awkward spot. In a hobby that relies on rookies, they were very limited in which players they could include in their 2012-13 products. To help ease the collector pain and generate a bit of buzz, Panini included mystery redemptions in both 2012-13 Certified Hockey and 2012-13 Limited Hockey.
Here we are, a year later, and the card maker has announced the Rookie Redemptions for both sets. These cards include both 2012-13 and 2013-14 rookies. None are autographed.
2012-13 Panini Certified Hockey Rookie Redemptions are numbered to 99. All 30 of the 2012-13 Panini Limited Hockey Rookie Redemptions are numbered to 499 and have anywhere from one to four players from the same team.
